Shipping Policy

Where We Ship
We ship both within New Zealand and internationally. As a small, handmade ceramics studio based in Aotearoa, we’re doing our best to make our products available wherever you are — though some locations may have limited options depending on carrier availability.

Shipping Times
All of our pieces are handmade in small batches. In-stock items will usually be packed and dispatched within 3–5 business days. For made-to-order items, please allow up to 3–4 weeks for production before shipping. We'll always do our best to keep you updated with realistic timeframes.

Shipping Costs
We’re still working out the most cost-effective shipping rates, especially for international orders. When you check out, select the appropriate shipping based on your location and order size. If we find a better rate or need to confirm anything, we’ll get in touch before shipping.

Packaging
We take great care to pack your ceramics securely using recyclable and sustainable packaging wherever possible. Ceramics are fragile, but we’ll do everything we can to ensure your pieces arrive safely.

Tracking & Delivery
Once your order ships, you’ll receive a tracking number via email. We primarily use NZ Post for domestic orders and their international courier services for overseas deliveries. Delivery times vary depending on your location.

Customs & Duties (for international customers)
International orders may be subject to customs fees or import taxes. These are the responsibility of the buyer. Please check your local import regulations before ordering — we cannot mark orders as gifts or undervalue them on customs forms.

Damaged Items
We do our absolute best to wrap each item with care, but if your piece arrives damaged, please email us within 7 days at info@backyardceramics.co.nz with clear photos of the item and packaging. We'll work with you to make it right.
